Penfield GREEN Initiative

Vision

The Penfield Green Initiative began in December of 2007

We are Penfield residents who want to promote positive environmental action and provide a forum for the general public to be involved in supporting a “green Penfield”

Goals

The Penfield Green Initiative's Purpose is to:

• call attention to environmental issues
• promote positive environmental action
• make an impact on various environmental issues of our town

• support town leadership to be good stewards for the environment
• serve as a voice for Penfield residents on issues of importance in their neighborhoods
• educate ourselves and others

Events

In 2008 PGI presented a forum for Town Board candidates to speak to the public about the environment.

We have submitted written and oral testimony on issues including Sherwood Trails and the proposed Linden Oaks development.

PGI schedules presentations to the public throughout the year.

Our planning committee meets on the third Sunday of each month at various coffee shops throughout town.
